10 Lessons Learnt At Camp Bestival 2013

Camp Bestival Lessons 2013

1. Book a taxi at Wareham station in advance.

2. Don’t use Wareham station at all; use Wool station; its closer to the festival!

3. Book a taxi from Wool station in advance

4. Dress warm! Especially for night-time (Chez was warned but underestimated my meaning of the phrase ‘bloody cold’)

5. Take pictures of every one when you can……………..not one single picture was taken of the 16 year old at all! She was checking in every few hours and then going off with friends again like a fleeting apparition.

6. Buy a solar phone charger. Lulworth sucks the life out of your phone battery at twice the rate of anywhere I’ve stayed on the whole freaking planet!

7. Don’t depend on phone calls! Once the phone was charged I couldn’t get a signal for love nor money…………….something to do with a valley. We had a ‘if you get lost go to the castle steps on the hour’ back up plan for those who could tell the time.

8. Take shoes, wellies or trainers! Doh; forgot to put mine in my bag and spent the whole time in Birkenstocks……………….not suitable for getting crazy to a Work It DJ set at one in the morning………or the lovely summer shower on the Sunday night……..epic fail

9. Label bottles……………….. a large swig of vodka from a 2 litre Evian water bottle was quite a nasty surprise!

10. Don’t expect an explanation……………..artists may just not show up (yes you………. Craig Charles)
